Dat drone filmpje op de nieuwe webcam moet je gezien hebben om te geloven. Ook haarscherpe beelden.

Ik heb deze weerbalonnenmethode op het forum gezet puur "ter leringhe ende vermaeck"
Je zal als duiker bezig zijn en er klapt zo'n ballon ergens uit elkaar.
Volgens mij komt die duiker(s) er niet levend vanaf door de drukgolf die dan ontstaat.
Er kleven nog veel meer bezwaren aan, ik geloof er ook niet in.

Zoals Mariner al opmerkte, er zijn toch schepen mede door geborgen.
De "London Valour" tegen de breakwater van Genua heeft Smit toch zo drijvend weten te krijgen en elders, waar het niet in de weg lag, af laten borrelen.
Het werkte dus wel. Hoe dat op grotere diepte zou moeten werken weet ik niet.

Mijn buurman en stapmaat was marine duiker en na die teid op de Martin S gedoken in dienst van van den Akker/Tak toen (ik zelf voer toe op Den Groningse kustvaart)Weet nog dat Jhonny mij vertelde dat de opgedoken flessen wisky niet meer te zuipen waren ,daar door de waterdruk dus +- 3 ato(30 mtr+-) er zeewater was ingesijpeld.....dat was natuurlijk erg jammer

Wreck-removal memorandum tackles the cost of meddling governments
International Group blames interfering states for delayed salvage and spiralling bills
THE International Group of P&I Clubs has drawn up a Memorandum of Understanding to put to the UK government to address the issue of state intervention as the costs associated with wreck removal continue to soar.
The MoU is a result of an IG working group study into the problem, responding to the cost of Costa Concordia, which was finally righted at 0400 hrs on Tuesday, 20 months after the casualty killed 32 people, when the cruiseship ran aground off the coast of Giglio, Italy.
Speaking at the International Union of Marine Insurance conference held in London this week, West of England P&I Club director Mike Kelleher said the working group had not found a magic solution but, having studied claims relating to the top 20 casualties in the last 10 years, had agreed a series of recommendations.
A key findings was that in 16 of the 20 casualties, state intervention had driven up costs.
Mr Kelleher said club expertise had not always been recognised and that government responses were often political and not based on technical understanding.
He said that the MOU was part of a wider outreach project working with the International Maritime Organization and the European Maritime Safety Agency to educate states on the role that insurers play in wreck-removal operations, aiming to reduce costs in the future.
Mr Kelleher said the group also recommended challenging governments through the courts if states’ actions delay salvage operations unnecessarily and drive up costs.
Over the last year, two further states have signed the Nairobi Wreck Removal Convention, bringing the number of signatories to eight, two fewer than the 10 required to ratify the convention after a period of 12 months.
Article two in the convention requires state response to be proportionate to the hazard and not to go beyond what is reasonably necessary.
Mr Kelleher said other states had shown interest in signing up, making ratification possible soon. He hoped this would create a dialogue between stakeholders and provide something tangible on which to hang a legal challenge.
Speaking after Mr Kelleher at the legal and liability workshop, IG chief executive Andrew Bardot said it would be interesting to see how the requirement for state response to be proportionate and reasonable would pan out practice.
However, he agreed that the convention would hopefully be another string to the bow for insurers.

Ze zeggen het nog heel voorzichtig . Kijk maar naar die Spaanse politieke sukkel die de Prestige verbood om binnen te lopen.

BREDA (ANP) - Een Nederlands schip mag het gekapseisde Italiaanse cruiseschip Costa Concordia wegbrengen.
Het gaat om de Vanguard, een monsterschip van het Bredase bedrijf Dockwise.
Dat heeft de opdracht gekregen van Costa-eigenaar Carnival Cruises, meldden Italiaanse media donderdag.
Dockwise en moederbedrijf Boskalis waren niet bereikbaar voor commentaar.
Het zou op zijn vroegst komend voorjaar gebeuren.
Het is niet bekend hoeveel geld Dockwise zou krijgen voor de opdracht. Ook is onduidelijk waar de Costa Concordia naartoe moet worden gebracht.
