FJELL submersion test successful.
FAIRSTAR receives DNV class certification.

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV (FAIR) announces that the submersion test of its self-propelled semi-submersible vessel Fjell was successfully
executed on Sunday May 17 in Malta under the scrutiny of representatives of Det Norske Veritas (DNV). DNV has issued
Certificates of Class to Fairstar.
The vessel is now qualified to operate as a fully-certified semi-submersible heavy transport vessel.

Willem Out, Managing Director Fleet: "Throughout the test, the stability of the ship and the control of the de-ballasting and
re-ballasting were outstanding. The Fjell will be able to provide our clients with an extremely safe and reliable vessel for the
transport of their high-value cargoes."

The Fjell departed Malta on Sunday night and is scheduled to arrive in Trapani, Sicily on Monday May 18.
While in Trapani the Fjell will be used to transport and launch a 7000 tons chemical tanker.
The operation is expected to take five days. Fjell will depart immediately afterwards for Lobito,
Angola where it will load a cargo of steel superstructure components for transport to the DSME yard in Okpo, Korea.

Philip Adkins, Fairstar's CEO commented: “The Fairstar team has finished its work in Malta. The conversion is complete.
We have paid the last invoice to our friends at Malta Shipyards and the account is settled.
The Fjell has departed Malta and will be generating revenue immediately.

It is impossible to understate the perseverance and passion that have motivated our team for the last three years.
We have fulfilled our promise to complete the conversion of Fjord and Fjell in Malta.

Jumbo Shipping en Volgo-Baltic Logistic: Het nieuwe Russische alternatief voor zware lading en transport

LC Volgo-Baltic Logistic (VBL), één van Rusland’s grootste vrachtvervoerders, heeft een exclusieve overeenkomst gesloten met de Nederlandse zware lading rederij Jumbo Shipping. VBL wordt de zakenpartner van Jumbo Shipping voor de Russiche markt en de bijbehorende ‘Commonwealth of Independent States’ (CIS).
Door gebruik te maken van de beide veelzijdige vloten en de gedeelde jarenlange ervaring zijn de twee bedrijven in staat een totaalpakket te bieden voor het transport van projectlading van en naar de Russische markt. Vanuit binnenwateren in heel Rusland tot aan wereldwijd gelegen zeehavens kunnen klanten worden bediend op het gebied van hijsen en (voor- en na) transport van volumineuze, zware en extreem zware lading.
Deze stap maakt onderdeel uit van de lange termijn strategie van marktleider Jumbo Shipping. Ook voor VBL biedt de samenwerking met Jumbo een uitgelezen kans om haar, toch al aanzienlijke, marktaandeel in het vervoer van projectlading verder uit te breiden.
Jumbo Shipping heeft een vloot van 14 speciaal, ‘in-house’ ontworpen zware lading schepen. Deze schepen hebben een geringe diepgang en een hijscapaciteit van 500 ton tot 1.800 ton. Twee van de vier J1800 klasse schepen zijn uitgerust met DP2, waardoor zij niet alleen geschikt zijn voor hijs- en transportwerk, maar ook voor offshore installatie werkzaamheden tot op 3.000 meter waterdiepte. De J1800 schepen zijn uitgerust met elk twee Huisman mastkranen die, op een reikwijdte van 27,5 meter, gezamenlijk 1.800 ton kunnen hijsen.
LC Volgo-Baltic Logistic beheert een vloot van 149 zee- en riviergaande schepen aangevuld met een groot aantal sleepboten en pontons. Hiermee biedt het bedrijf het volledige scala aan transportmogelijkheden over de binnenlandse vaarwegen en de internationale vaarroutes. Bovendien is VBL een dochteronderneming van J.S. “North Western Shipping Company”, het grootste transportbedrijf voor de binnenwateren in de Russische Federatie.

FAIRSTAR FJELL completes maiden voyage, successfully executes roll-on/float-off operation in Sicily

Fairstar Heavy Transport (FAIR) announces that the Fjell has successfully completed its maiden contract in Trapani,
Sicily and received total revenues of USD1.32 million.

The Fjell was used to transport the 7000 ton chemical tanker "Marettimo M" from the Cantiere Navale di Trapani (CNT) shipyard in Trapani,
Sicily and launch it into a safe location in Trapani harbor. Working closely with Mammoet, the world's leader in land-based heavy transport,
the "Marettimo M" was rolled on to the Fjell using Mammoet self-propelled mobile trailers(SPMT). Once on board the deck of Fjell,
the vessel sailed to a nearby location and submerged to a depth sufficient to allow the "Marettimo M" to float off the Fjell and was
then towed back to a quayside in Trapani.

Dave Hangoor, Fairstar Operations Manager commented: "For three days Fairstar, Mammoet and CNT worked almost around the
clock to prepare the cargo and the Fjell. Mammoet performed with their usual professionalism and once the cargo was on board
the Fjell it was up to the Fairstar team to finish the job. We worked within a very small margin of error and we are extremely satisfied
that the Fjell performed so well on its maiden contract. Float-offs require a high degree of skill and experience.
Fairstar has served its client safely and reliably."

Philip Adkins, Fairstar's CEO reported from location in Trapani: "This contract really played to the strengths of our ship and our personnel.
The shallow draft and high weight-bearing features of the Fjell allowed us to position the ship at the quay.
The advantage of our open stern allowed Mammoet to access the deck with their SPMT's to load on this sizable cargo.
The experience of our team resulted in a safe and successful discharge.
It is almost impossible to imagine that we were in Malta a week ago just finishing the Fjell conversion.
Fjell and its crew have exceeded everyone's expectations. We are very proud of them.”

The ship is now en route to Lobito, Angola where she will be loaded with a cargo of FPSO components for transport to the DSME yard in Okpo, Korea.
