These coasters never made many trips to Ireland, but nevertheless made great drawing subjects especially this one shown here in the Nieuwe Waterweg.

Re: Coaster Art
Those three drawings are really smart looking John !.
The fisherman "Excel"/ "W-110" gives the right looks of a twin rigger nowadays and many of her sisters.
Motorvessel "Sea-wyf" leaving Irish waters, shows her beautiful lines in this "full-and-down" view.
The regular North Sea crossing coaster "Geestsluis" is in your drawing about home at Maassluis.
I appreciate your style very much !. Thanks for sharing us with your work.
regards, Roy

M/V BLACKTHORN
I rarely do any Oilpainting nowadays but this was a "one off" for a friend who used it as a cover for his book on the Port of Coleraine, N. Ireland. Shown here is Coe,s BLACKTHORN , dropping the local pilot outward bound from Coleraine , at the mouth of the River Bann , in Portstewart Bay. This painting was done using "Household Hard Gloss Paint". It seemed to work for me???

Re: Coaster Art
mooi man, staat weer in mijn prive albummetje....
de zee spreekt me aan, de zee zingt me toe,
ik kan haar verstaan, ik word haar niet moe,
ik reisde naar het noorden, naar zuid, west of oost,
de zee is mijn zegen, de zee is mijn troost.
