Royal IHC sells €100Mln worth of dredgers
Royal IHC has reached agreements with several key customers in Africa and Asia to supply IHC Beaver® cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) and an IHC Easydredge® trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) with an approximate total value of € 100 million. Both vessel types are products within IHC’s highly successful standardised range of dredging vessels. The flexible IHC Easydredge® concept, available in four types and with hopper capacities ranging from 500 to 4,000m3, is ideal for all common maintenance and land reclamation projects.
The IHC Beaver® is extremely productive at dredging depths ranging from two to more than 18 metres. Since 1963, over 900 IHC Beavers® have been supplied and successfully deployed worldwide. In recent times, more companies have chosen to invest in IHC’s CSDs to efficiently maintain and develop ports, lakes and inland waterways.
“Our range of IHC Beaver® and IHC Easydredge® vessels have proven to be highly successful worldwide,” says IHC’s Executive Commercial Director Dredging Arne de Kock. “We are proud of the trust and confidence that our numerous customers continue to have in IHC’s ability to deliver innovative solutions and value-added products. With our collaborative approach and commitment to in-depth co-creation with our customers, we endeavour to develop solutions for the long-term satisfaction of all stakeholders across the challenging environments in which we operate.”

Royal IHC successfully launches TSHD RIVER THAMES
31 October, DEME's latest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) RIVER THAMES was successfully launched at PaxOcean Graha, Batam in Indonesia. The TSHD, designed and build by Royal IHC, has a hopper capacity of 2,300m³ and a maximum dredging depth of 30 meters below the waterline. The RIVER THAMES is a copy of the 2,300m³ TSHD LESSE, successfully delivered by IHC to Baggerbedrijf de Boer in August.
The vessel is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as perform land reclamation. It is equipped with the latest electronic system to improve positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work. To minimize environmental impact during dredging, the vessel is equipped with the latest innovation in the field of overflow - the IHC Plumigator®. The compact design of the TSHD is characterised by a small draught and can be deployed for projects in shallow water worldwide.
This successful launching is an important milestone in the construction process of the RIVER THAMES. The vessel is expected to be delivered in 2020.
